Data Analysis and Workflows

  • CyVerse (originally the iPlant Collaborative) provides cyberinfrastructure to handle huge datasets and complex analyses.
  • Galaxy is an open web-based platform for accessible reproducible and transparent computational research.  While this link directs users to the Galaxy project, there are dozens of other Galaxy servers available.
  • BaseSpace is Illumina's answer to Galaxy, and is a cloud-based genomics analysis tool fully integrated with Illumina technology.
  • Empowering the Development of Genomics Expertise (EDGE) is a point-and-click style tool for analyzing genome assemblies and Next Generation Sequencing
  • GenePattern  is a workflow tool for genome research
  • STRING provides protein-protein interaction network visual analysis tools
  • CIPRES provides cyberinfrastructure for the determination of large phylogenetic trees
  • The Gene Ontology Consortium provides curated representations of gene functions and so much more
  • PROSITE is a website for identification of protein families and domains
  • PDBeFold provides the ability to compare 3D protein structures
  • GoMapMan  is an open web-accessible resource for gene functional annotations in the plant sciences
