NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy: DMPTools for NIH DMS Plans

DMPTools is an online tools to help you create a data management plan, including for the new Data Management and Sharing Policy.

 

To start, sign up to DMPTools here using your CSHL email.

Make sure you designate that you are from CSHL so that you can receive specific guidance from the CSHL Library.

Start a Plan

To start a plan: 

  1. Click on Create Plan
  2. Put a project title.
  3. Select a funder.  Type NIH to fine the National Institutes of Health.
  4. Select a template.  Choose the Forthcoming 2023 NIH template.
  5. Your plan is started!

 

In order to create a plan:

  1. Fill out the relevant information on the first tab.
  2. Click on Write Plan
  3. There are six elements. Click on the first element: "Data types".
