Chemistry Databases: Reaxys

A guide to Reaxys and SciFinder

Reaxys

The CSHL Library subscribes to Reayxs. Reaxys is a literature, reaction, and synthesis database for chemical compounds.

Getting Started

Getting started with Reaxys is easy!

Simply create an account and sign in by visiting https://www.reaxys.com/#/login

Be sure to use your CSHL email that you have used to sign up for Elsevier products in the past.

Basic Searching

Begin your search in Reaxys by using the quick search function. You can search for many chemical compounds, properties, and patents. It also has the ability to allow you to draw chemical structures and search from your drawing.

Advanced Query Builder

For more complex searches you can use the Query Builder to help refine your results. It has all of the same functionality as the basic search feature, but allows you to structure your searches individually. Using the fields tab on the right, you can select the parameters that you would like to search by. You can also search by molecular structure, chemical drawing, patent assignee or many chemical reaction parameters.
