RSS feeds can help you efficiently stay current on research in your field, or on any topic that interests you. Using RSS feeds will allow you to save time by not having to visit numerous websites on a regular basis or join numerous email lists.
To take advantage of RSS feed in your areas of interest, you will need to download/use an RSS feed reader/aggregator. (Certain browsers and email clients can also be used to read RSS feeds; see below.) Once you have an RSS reader, you will need to set it to check the RSS feeds that you wish to read.
Outlook includes functionality for reading RSS feeds. For further information, see Outlook and RSS: Internet information delivered to your mailbox. The hands-on part of this self-paced course requires Outlook 2007.
